The word ‘lost’ in Biblical term used to describe the condition of every single person who is yet to receive LORD Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.

LORD Jesus said about His mission on earth;

Luke 19:10

10For the Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost.

When He send out His disciples out two by two He said;

Matthew 10:6

6Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.

John 3:15-17

15that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Lost word throughout the Bible used to describe the spiritual condition.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4

3And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

The word for lost, perished, destroyed, ruined all the same word in Greek. It is a condition of being separated from GOD for eternity. Condition of being blinded to the truth therefore they have not received LORD Jesus Christ as their Saviour.

2 Peter 3:9

9The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

A person who come comes to repentance is not going to be lost.

Here is the scripture what’s going to happen to every single person who are lost. The ultimate of being lost is being thrown into the lake of fire.

Revelation 20:11-15

11Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

The reason, we all man sinning today is:

Romans 5:12

12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—

Adam and Eve were ‘untried innocence’ before they were tested in the Garden of Eden. When they were tested they have failed and they became a condition of being lost and rebelled against GOD. The truth is they both disobeyed and rebelled against GOD. The conduct and behaviour are the results of lost condition, condition of being rebellion against GOD.

Bible describes those people who are lost as being dead in transgressions and sins.

Ephesians 2:1

1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins

Their only part that relate to GOD which is their spirit. When you trust in LORD Jesus Christ as your Saviour that spirit become alive. That’s what the new birth is all about. It is a spiritual resurrection. That is no longer your mind is veil to Word of GOD, the person starts to understand the ways of GOD, the things of GOD and start to grow once they are saved with the grace of GOD.

John 3:16-17

16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

LORD Jesus came as a Saviour to save the world. LORD Jesus Christ is virgin born by Holy Spirit, GOD walked among man as GOD and died as man to pay for our sins. GOD the Son became flesh. Incarnation is an expression of GOD’s great love for lost person.

John 1:14

14The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Philippians 2:6-9

6Who, being in very nature ^a God,

did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;

7rather, he made himself nothing

by taking the very nature ^b of a servant,

being made in human likeness.

8And being found in appearance as a man,

he humbled himself

by becoming obedient to death—

even death on a cross!

9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place

and gave him the name that is above every name,

Just because GOD loves you doesn’t mean you are saved. GOD’s love is so great that He sent His only Son in order that we may be saved through Him.

Romans 5:6-8

6You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

GOD’s love is unconditional. He chose us according to His good pleasure and His will.

Hebrews 2:9

9You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;

therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions

by anointing you with the oil of joy.”

1 John 2:1-2

1My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

John 3:15-16, 36

15that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

36Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

The condition of the heart has to change to be saved only when the Spirit of GOD comes into dwell, the life is given to that one and that life is eternal.

We need to respond by faith. Believe in the LORD Jesus Christ as your Saviour. That moment your condition changes and you are saved.
