A Passing opportunity

Posted on 01 Nov 2019

Opportunity to give someone our testimony, opportunity to give word of encouragement to someone who is going through a difficult time, wonderful opportunity to reassure someone, to help someone who need you that moment.

An opportunity is a gift from GOD. It impacts on your life and someone else’s life. He will show you who to speak, where to go, a particular way to serve Him, in a particular place or to work with people around you. Every day is a day of opportunity.

Opportunity is a favourable time when we are in a position to make a decision that will impact our lives in a positive way.

Be very sensitive to what GOD is doing in our lives, sometime GOD gives you challenges which are opportunities for you to serve Him and bring blessings to others as well as yourself.

You are where you are right now as a result of responding to opportunities GOD has given you. Your eternal destiny might be changed. Read the Word of God, He uses His Word to show us what opportunities are there, He uses His Word to open our hearts to do what He wants us to do.

Mark 10:46-52

46Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

48Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

49Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”

So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” 50Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.

51“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.

The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”

52“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

John 9:1-3

1As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents that he was born blind?”

3“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

Today there are many spiritually blind.

2 Corinthians 4:4

4The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Sharpen your spiritual gifts by reading Word of GOD, watch out how GOD worked in people’s life in New Testament and Old Testament, you become sensitive to voice of GOD if you spent time with Him, reading His Word, watch how He worked in everybody else’s life. That’s the way you learn how GOD operates.

A life changing opportunity to Bartimaeus. He cried out for LORD Jesus to have mercy on him. People around him sternly rejected him. “And Jesus stood still”. He is willing to listen to anyone who cries out to Him. LORD Jesus asked “What do you want me to do for you?” and LORD said to him “your faith has healed you”. He followed LORD Jesus.

LORD wants to change your eternal destiny, He wants to give you life that His very best. He knows our heart. Sometime through sickness, suffering, pain, hardship, we learn, GOD uses them. GOD gave you opportunity to make a wonderful day today, hear from Him today that you are a child of GOD, He has opportunities for you, that you are a person worthy of GOD speaking to you because of His love, grace and mercy and you have come to a place of opportunity that can revitalise your thinking, because of your living somebody’s else life will be changed.

Ephesians 2:8-10

8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

When LORD Jesus save us, He began spiritual journey with us. He created us for good works which He has preordained for us to walk in them. Heavenly Father saved for us all these opportunities throughout our lives. He gave you mind that sharp, educated, experienced, you have outperformed many. He has prepared you, equipped you for every opportunity that He has in mind for you.

GOD will not give you opportunities if you were not equipped. You have everything in you to fulfil the opportunities He has for you. You are a unique creation of GOD created to bring opportunity, honour and grace to Him. GOD created you for life time opportunities. Surrender your life to Him and watch Him work. GOD removes all the stuff for you to do will of GOD.

It was the last time LORD Jesus walked that way, it was Bartimaeus only and last opportunity. You should thank GOD million times for every opportunity He has given you.

You will be saved when the Spirit calls you, draws you. That’s why when you listen to Gospel take advantage of that opportunity, give your life to Christ, and obey Him.

What do you want GOD to do for you?

1 John 5:14-15

14This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

Matthew 7:7-11

7“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 9“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
