1 Peter 1:17-21

17Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. 18For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.

Sin is a serious business with GOD because it has eternal consequences. Sin is disobedience to Holy God. GOD hates sin because of what it does to His children.

<Sin deceives. It has temporary satisfaction.

<Sin disappoints.

<Sin is destructive.

<Sin brings death. It’s eternal death. Bible says the soul that sins it will die. The wages of sin is death.

Saving power of the blood of LORD Jesus Christ:

Genesis 3:20-21

20Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living. 21The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.

LORD shed blood on their behalf. The price of sin is blood. Forgiveness requires shedding blood.

LORD supper is blood of LORD Jesus for our salvation which is a remainder to us of what happened.

Redemption:

1 Peter 1:18-19

18For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

Only the blood of LORD Jesus Christ can take care of our sins. He redeemed us, He took care of our sins.

Reconciliation:

Colossians 1:19-22

19For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. 21Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behaviour. 22But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—

Sin separates us from GOD. Those of saved have been reconciled, we trust our LORD Jesus Christ as our saviour, we have been reconciled to our Heavenly Father.

Reconciliation brings people together, reconciliation brings husband and wives together whose been separated. Reconciliation brings sinners in oneness with LORD Jesus Christ in reunion and harmony.

Justification:

Romans 5:8-9.

8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!

The ultimate reason is love and price is the blood of LORD Jesus Christ. GOD justifies us declares no longer guilty. It’s the blood of Christ justifies.

Sanctification: Set it apart

Hebrews 13:12

12And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood.

Sanctify mean set it apart. It is a process that goes on. We sin in flesh after saved, GOD has atoned for our sins and write our names in the Lamb of GOD, we are redeemed, reconciled and justified once but sanctification goes on.

1 John 7-9

7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 8If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Sanctification is ongoing process, we need His continuing cleansing, if we confess our sins He is faithful and just and will forgive us from our sins. We ask forgiveness and receive forgiveness on the basis LORD Jesus died at the cross and shed His blood, once and for all sacrifice for all sin, for all time for all people everywhere. Sin is very serious business it cost GOD His Son. It is about Holy God knowing we will all sin against Him we will all be eternally separated from Him. Shedding of blood started with the first couple in the Garden of Eden and continued through Old Testament.

We can look back to cross of LORD Jesus Christ daily. LORD Jesus died and suffered on the cross for us. GOD love for us overflowing. If you want to get right with GOD you have to (end up) sacrifice yourselves on the cross. From beginning of time when sin entered the humanity to present moment only one thing atones bring about forgiveness of our sins blood of LORD Jesus Christ. There isn’t any other choice. From beginning to end Bible talks about His coming, what happened and His coming again.

Forgiveness isn’t cheap, forgiveness cost GOD His only begotten Son. LORD Jesus blood is the only atonement for sins. LORD Jesus died for you. After you are saved He sends the Holy Spirit to enable you to live above sin, to enable you to be righteous and godly, He reminds you that He is willing you to forgive you of your sins. We are dwelled with Holy Spirit to live out a life of godly person. It’s all about blood of LORD Jesus, it’s all about forgiveness, it’s all about cleansing, it’s all about GOD restoration of our lives, writing our names into Lambs Book of Life and being His child forever. There is only one thing, through one person at one time in whole history and that is the sacrificial substitutionary death of LORD Jesus Christ who died in your behalf so that you do not have to die for your sins. That’s the gospel.
