1 Corinthians 6:9-11

9Know you not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

11And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Psalm 51:1-2

1Have mercy upon me, O God, according to your lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of your tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

2Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

GOD has given us an alarm system conscience.

When unbeliever sins against GOD that person knows in his mind and heart they know they have sinned against GOD. If the conscience ignored long enough that person becomes dull in their sensitivity to their conscience so after a while they can sin against GOD but they don’t feel what they felt when they first time committed the sin and soon they don’t feel any more about the sins. The conscience GOD’s alarm system has been so dead that no longer can feel the alarm and the ultimate destruction is ahead if you continue in that direction.

The believer has a dual alarm system natural conscience and Holy Spirit. The Spirit of GOD witness our spirit that we have violated the law of GOD and quickly He brings it to our mind that we have sinned against the LORD. The conscience and the Spirit of GOD makes you realised that you have sinned against GOD. We get convicted in our hearts that we have sinned against GOD who saved us.

Sharp conviction is felt straight away. You cannot silence the Holy Spirit if you have saved by the grace of GOD.

1 Corinthians 6:16-20

16What? know you not that he who is joined to a harlot is one body? for two, says he, shall be one flesh.

17But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is outside the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body.

19What? know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have of God, and you are not your own?

20For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

11And such were some of you: Lifestyle / mind set resulting in a continuing basis a person gave himself over it and continually committed the same sin because it is his mind set.

GOD will forgive every sin on the basis we have redemption through the blood of LORD Jesus Christ and according to the riches of His grace.

Ephesians 1:7

7In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Colossians 3:1-5

1If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God.

2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3For you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall you also appear with him in glory.

5Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

Now we have a new mind set.

1 Peter 1:18-19

18Since you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain manner of life received by tradition from your fathers;

19But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

1 Peter 2:24

24Who his own self bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed.

LORD Jesus died for our sins therefore when I accept LORD Jesus Christ as my Saviour Holy Spirit comes into my life to indwell in me therefore I have a new mind set, now I set my mind on the things of GOD. I have a different attitude. Something we receive as a result of LORD Jesus Christ shedding His blood at Calvary for my sins.

You need to be forgiven by GOD and have a new mind set. When you are saved, GOD gives you new Spirit and whole new perspective.
