1 Thessalonians 4:1-8
1Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you have received of us how you ought to walk and to please God, so you would abound more and more.
2For you know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
3For this is the will of God, even your sanctification that you should abstain from fornication:
4That every one of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honour;
5Not in the lust of passion, even as the Gentiles who know not God:
6That no man transgress and wrong his brother in any matter: because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
7For God has not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
8He therefore that despises, despises not man, but God, who has also given unto us his Holy Spirit.
GOD saved us for the purpose of building intimate relationship with us. Giving ourselves to Him, learning, receiving who He is through His Holy Spirit.
He who rejects this, rejects GOD. GOD has given us power to choose and obey. There is no such sin without penalty.
Paul has written to Corinthians Flee from immorality – walk away.
1 Corinthians 6:18
18Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is outside the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body.
Run away from it, shut the evil, devil down. If it is look like rebellion, sin walk away.
Condemnation, guilt, anxiety, your mind will be divided, it will diminish your capacity to operate at full speed and your mind at what you are doing, damage in your self-esteem. You cannot live in immorality and have self-esteem. Hypocrisy, emptiness because sex apart from genuine love is emptiness, loneliness something is missing. Disappointment, depression. You suddenly realise it’s not what you thought it will be. Future penalty. They began to doubt, it diminishes personal relationship with GOD. You cannot get on your knees and pray to GOD. Christian life collapses when you live in rebellion to God. What you are saying is rejecting Him.
Consequences are devastating. The power of sexual temptation is immediate pleasure, yet consequences are devastating.
*Confess it,
*Genuine repentance, I agree with GOD, my sin is against GOD, and I turn and walk away from it. Change of mind, change of heart, change of direction. Praying for GOD forgiveness.
*Forgive yourself. Walk away from it, break that relationship, severe that relationship.
Psalm 119:9
9How shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to your word.
If you keep your eyes on the Word of GOD you will be fine.
Clean up your life if you truly mean it, repent and turn your life over to GOD.
