1 Timothy 1:18-20
18Timothy, my child, I am instructing you in keeping with the prophecies made earlier about you, so that by following them you may continue to fight the good fight 19with faith and a good conscience. By ignoring their consciences, some people have destroyed their faith like a wrecked ship. 20These include Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I handed over to Satan so that they may learn not to blaspheme.
Ask yourself – Can I trust my conscience when I come to something questionable to send me a message of feeling of conflict, uncertainty, questions, doubts, fear?
GOD gives us conscious for our protection. Spirit of GOD will convict you and use your conscious to remind you that it does not fit who you are, it does not fit what you believe, and it does not fit with your relationship to Almighty GOD.
Conscious is universal gift of GOD. The Conscious;
< Distinguishes between the morally right or wrong.
< It urges us to do something that which we recognise to be right.
< Restrains us from doing what we recognise to be wrong. The more you are committed to LORD Jesus Christ the louder your conscious is going to be.
< Passes judgement on your actions and executes that judgement within the soul.
Our conscience is given for our protection
< Judges a man soul, attitudes, conduct and behaviour
< Spiritual radar, sends us signals that something close to us is not right, sensitivity. Holy Spirit is sending you signal that it does not fit who you are. When He sends you a signal about something it is for us to avoid because He loves us. Sooner or later you will find out what GOD signalled to watch out. The Bible is the final authority and always right and correct.
< A good conscience – 1 Timothy 1:19
19with faith and a good conscience. By ignoring their consciences, some people have destroyed their faith like a wrecked ship.
< A straggling conscience – 1 Corinthians 8:6-13
< A solid conscience – Titus 1:15
15To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.
< A seared conscience – 1 Timothy 4:1-2 when conscience becomes seared. It is dead by disobedience to GOD.
Romans 1:21-24
21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him. Instead, their thoughts turned to worthless things, and their senseless hearts were darkened. 22Though claiming to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images that looked like mortal human beings, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles.24For this reason, God delivered them to sexual impurity as they followed the lusts of their hearts and dishonoured their bodies with one another.
We can trust our conscience
< When we have accepted the Word of GOD as the basis for our conduct, I will by the 10 commandments and the New Testament.
< When we have programmed our conscience with the teaching of Scripture
< When we have a strong desire to obey GOD
< When we playfully consider the decisions we make, we have a good conscience that you can trust
< When it sounds the alarm immediately, if we consider a wrong direction in your thoughts and actions.
< When we feel guilty immediately, upon disobedience
