Obey GOD leave all consequences to Him. Wait upon His timing. His timing is very, very important. As well what He wants us to do it, we also need to know when and how He wants us to do it.
You can never go wrong on waiting GOD’s timing. It requires that we would be patient. When we step out of His will we get in trouble.
Psalm 27:14
14Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Waiting on the LORD is very difficult especially when we want something now.
GOD’s timing is perfect because He knows all the details, past, present and the future. You can never go wrong waiting upon GOD’s timing. When you are ready to make decisions ask yourself a question; am I in a hurry? Am I waiting on GOD’s timing?
None of us sufficient ourselves to make wise decisions, we have the Holy Spirit to caution us, quicken our spirit to do the right thing always, ready to show us the right thing to do.
When GOD says wait, you wait till GOD gives you clear directions because we have promise of GOD in the Word of GOD that He will give us direction and He promised to answer our prayer.
You learn to listen to Him when you don’t have big issue in life, when there is no pressure. Make a habit to listen to Him with little things in life, things that are not crucial at that particular point in time. Learning to listen to GOD and waiting in His timing is a second most important principle in the Word.
Sometime in life it is very difficult to wait especially when everybody around you telling you otherwise.
The requirements to wait upon GOD are;
*Faith. I have to trust Him because my waiting is saying I am trusting you GOD, your timing is better than mine. You know what I do not know, Your timing is always right. I am going to trust you and wait till you give me permission. GOD does not deprive us of anything He only wants what’s best for us. It takes faith. Am I willing to trust GOD for His timing before I make a decision? GOD will show you His timing. GOD is willing to show you if you ask Him. Bible says;
Matthew 7:7-8
7“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
It takes faith to wait upon GOD. Trusting GOD doesn’t mean you will get what you want when you want it. Trusting Him says I believe when the timing is right GOD will provide me what I am asking for.
Nothing too hard for the GOD. GOD controls all circumstances. If GOD tells you to wait, do you think something will slip out from GOD’s care? If we stop and think; with the power of GOD, the wisdom of GOD, the knowledge of GOD, we are not going to miss on anything that He would like us to have by waiting upon GOD.
If GOD does not give you what you ask for because either you don’t need it or it is not good for you or it’s not the right timing. It all boils down to do I trust Him or not?
*Patience is required.
Psalm 37:1, 7, 8 GOD says for three times do not fret.
1Fret not yourself because of evildoers, neither be you envious of the workers of iniquity.
7Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.
8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not yourself in any way to do evil.
Don’t get anxious about something when you can ask GOD about it. Do you believe GOD loves you? If you believe GOD who He says He is, you can believe that GOD will show you the right time to do anything and everything. GOD’s timing is always perfect. Do I believe He has our best interest in His heart? If I believe Him I am going to wait. His timing is always the right time.
*Courage;
Joshua 1:9
9Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
If I trust Him, I am going to trust His timing. Courage to say no to offers. It may look like GOD’s will but it is not. When GOD tells you not to do something He means no. Sometime He might tell you why, sometime He may not.
It takes faith, patience and courage to wait upon GOD. Many things may look like will of GOD because often times it will look like GOD is being good to you. Often times you may not understand why you have to say no to offers. All I have to understand is whether I will be obedient or not to Him, to His will in my life. GOD timing is always perfect. It may appear to be late but it is perfect because GOD knows all the avenues that affect us.
*Obeying GOD takes determination to wait. Things may look right, deep inside of you the Holy Spirit will give you heeding if you don’t obey the heeding of the Holy Spirit He will not only get louder and louder. However because of your disobedience you will hear Him less and less finally you won’t hear Him. You have to be determined to wait for GOD.
*Strength. Do not move till GOD says move and not make a choice till GOD says make a choice. GOD is the source of our strength. When something is not GOD’s choice, say LORD give me strength to say no. LORD give me the desires of my heart for me to be obedient to your will always. I don’t want anything in my life that will bring disobedience. It takes strength to say no. It is easier to listen to the loud voices than the quite voice of Holy Spirit.
Nobody can change the mind of GOD.
*Endurance. Just hang in there. Endure people suggestions, their influence, testimony, whatever might be. You have to decide if you want to be obedient to GOD or not.
Waiting upon the LORD is a lesson we learn. The world is full of trouble, full of offers and people telling you what you should do shouldn’t do. There is one ultimate supreme voice that you listen to and that’s GOD’s. Hang in there no matter what till GOD shows you what He wants you to do.
Obey GOD and leave all the consequences to Him. GOD will not tell you to do anything sinful, out of the will of GOD. This is why we talk about walking in the will of GOD. You will only miss things in life that are not good for you. Obey GOD you will know. He only wants what’s good for you. You have to decide whether you will listen to Him or somebody else.
Walking with GOD on His schedule with His direction and will is the only way to live.
If you never trusted LORD Jesus Christ as your Saviour all these will be foreign to you. So the most important decision for you to make in life is to surrender your life to LORD Jesus Christ, confessing, repenting your sins, surrendering your life to Him then you can hear Him. Then you will realise GOD has something in store for you, you never dreamt of, He has the best for you! Your life will change for the better!
