The Garden of Gethsemane

36Then came Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and said unto the disciples, Sit you here, while I go and pray yonder.

37And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very distressed.

38Then said he unto them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death: tarry you here, and watch with me.

39And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as you will.

40And he came unto the disciples, and found them asleep, and said unto Peter, What, could you not watch with me one hour?

41Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

42He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, your will be done.

43And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

44And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

45Then came he to his disciples, and said unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

46Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that does betray me.

We have to go through pain, suffering and share His suffering. Something may not be will of GOD in our lives but GOD allows it to happen for a purpose in order to prepare us and to equip us in life to get us ready to accomplish His purpose.

Pain and suffering in our life is very instructional.

It is purifying, something about pain causes us to see things the way they are.

Very motivational in order to bring us to will of GOD.

GOD knows whether to send blessings to do His will or pain.

Creates an atmosphere for ultimate intimacy.

Turn to living Word of GOD.

GOD what is your goal for this in my life?

*We may have Gethsemane experience in our life. He wants us to see and understand the pain LORD Jesus gone through as a substitute to pay the debt for our sins.

*GOD wants us to understand how LORD Jesus responded so that we will not waste our pain and sorrows.

LORD Jesus and Apostle Paul suffered the most and they are holy.

Luke 22:43-44

43And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

44And being in agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Accept whatever GOD sends in your life because it is for definite, He has a godly purpose for it.

GOD “wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:4

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13

“As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” Ephesians 4:1

It is the will of GOD we walk in a manner that pleasing Him. Walking with the LORD is His will for all of us. It is not always easy but it is His will purpose and plan in order to walk in the will of GOD we must learn to listen to Him.
