Expressing Godly character part 1

In scripture love is mentioned in the Old Testament 250 times, in the New Testament 234 times and in John’s gospel and his 3 epistles 72 times alone.

John 3:16

16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Do you feel GOD loves you? If love is missing in your life, the vital part of your life is missing.

1 John 4:7-11

We Must Love As God Loves

7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loves is born of God, and knows God.

8He that loves not knows not God; for God is love.

9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

10In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

11Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

GOD loves you and wants you to know what’s love is about and surely He wants you to love Him. Satisfying, fulfilling, genuine love is Godly love without it you will feel empty. Love is a commitment and fulfilling the needs. Hep each other to become the person GOD wants you to be.

Expressing godly character

Love is more than emotion, it is a commitment to another person.

Love can discern true love in others. You will know whether somebody loves you genuinely or not.

Love is not free, of course GOD’s love is free, all others are not free. Love demands something from others. GOD did not create us to live without love.

When a person truly feels loved enables us to feel complete.

Makes you feel competent.

Makes you feel worthy.

Love is generous, love is not selfish.

You love things about the other person and you want what’s best for them. They give themselves to each other in the rightly, holy, godly way.

Love is fulfilling because it’s giving to somebody, you don’t give to get paid back.

Love is forgiving, you must always forgive. LORD Jesus died for our sins, He has forgiven us our sins.

Love desires to express itself.

When you love somebody you are like a spring, GOD’s love flows through you in you.

Love hurts when somebody else hurts.

Love does not keep accounts, willing to sacrifice when necessary, love is giving.

Love is painful.

The person who loves wins.

Love does not require anything in return. If love you I just love you because you are you.

Love is patient, love knows how to wait and willing to wait.

Love does not hold grudges.

Love is a choice we make, based on who we are and what GOD wants to accomplish in our life.

Love is best shown through the cross. LORD Jesus death on the cross perfect example of love. When you love you are acting the most like Jesus. Therefore He is on your side. You are loving because that’s who you are.

Love is not all about me.

If you want love in your life read the Bible. If you really want life in its best it has to be rooted and grounded in the foundation of godly love. Accepting the death of LORD Jesus Christ on the cross is the greatest act of love ever known and He died to pay our debts in full. He is willing to forgive you and He will remember your sins no more when you repent of them before Him.

The most important thing is love for GOD and ability to receive the love of GOD, ability to love other people and receive their love. I ask that you ask LORD Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins, surrender your life to Him and let Him to help you to live your life at its best. LORD Jesus Christ is your Saviour and the Master.
