1 Peter 4:12

12Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to test you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

GOD’s purpose in our trials:

* Cleansing and purification – when we face trials we are driven to GOD, we see all in different light, confessing, repenting

* Testing our faith – GOD pushes us to limit and just before we fall He changes our circumstances, the only way He can stretch us is by testing our faith. He would like to see us come through with approved faith. That honours GOD. GOD I believe you, I believe exactly who you say you are. I believe in you GOD.

* Testing our endurance – the more trials we go through stronger we become. The more difficulties and hardship we face successfully the more we can take on. He is building saints. He is confirming us to likeness of His Son.

James 1:3,12

3Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience.

12Blessed is the man that endures trial: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him.

* Our devotion to LORD Jesus Christ will be tested – LORD says “If you love Me you will obey Me” John 14:15. Trials reveal how strong our faith, how much we can endure, trials reveal our love and devotion to Christ. We just believe in Him and trust in Him. For us to be steadfast not to give up.

* He wants to demonstrate His power to bless us – GOD gets glorified if they see His people sustained, encouraged, built character in their life, fitted for service.

*These trials profit us if we trust in GOD.
