Seven habits of Godly people

Posted on 31 Oct 2019

A habit is recurring, often unconscious pattern behaviour that is acquired through frequent repetition.

A godly life is a life no longer seeking satisfaction through a sinful lifestyle, but now surrendered to GOD and His will for our life, sanctified life.

< Life of prayer; every day you sense the need, desire and joy and the awesome power that comes from praying to the Father. It is a habit because you love GOD and because you are grateful for who He is and what he is doing in your life. Prayer life keeps you connected to Almighty GOD, sensitive to His will and purpose and His plan for your life. It’s the most important activity in your life.

Mark 1:35-37

Jesus Prays in a Solitary Place

35Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. 36Simon and his companions went to look for him, 37and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!”

Luke 4:42-43

42At daybreak, Jesus went out to a solitary place. The people were looking for him and when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from leaving them. 43But he said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” 44And he kept on preaching in the synagogues of Judea.

Matthew 6:9-13

LORD’s Prayer

“ ‘Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

10your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

11Give us today our daily bread.

12And forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from the evil one. ’

  for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

< Trust in the LORD and have faith;

Psalm 103:19

19The Lord has established his throne in heaven,

and His kingdom rules over all.

LORD rules over everything and He is in charge no matter what happens, how it happens, through who it happens. I know that GOD is in control and I can trust Him for whatever He allows in my life.

Proverbs 3:5-6

5Trust in the Lord with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

6in all your ways submit to him,

and he will make your paths straight.

When you trust in the LORD, it build intimacy with Him. I have intimate relationship with Him, you are close to their heart and the way they think, the way they feel for all the days of your life. You and Him talk together. You listen to Him, He listens to you. You obey Him, he guides you.

What am I worried about? You are not worried about anything because you are trusting Him.

< Meditation on the Word of GOD

Psalm 63:6-8

6On my bed I remember you;

I think of you through the watches of the night.

7Because you are my help,

I sing in the shadow of your wings.

8I cling to you;

your right hand upholds me.

Read it, think about it, search My heart, ask questions I have in my mind. I surrender to whatever He brings on my mind and mediation. Like looking at the mirror, looking beyond the mirror. I see what GOD sees and I see beyond that and I see Him, your focus is on Him. When you focus on the GOD, your worries drift away, your concerns drift away.

< Obey GOD

Deuteronomy 27:10

10 Obey the Lord your God and follow his commands and decrees that I give you today.”

Deuteronomy 28:1

1If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.

When you obey God we are walking on higher level. You have chosen to follow LORD Jesus, you have chosen to live by a standard that higher than the world standard. It means our life style is better than the rest of the world. Wise thing to do obey GOD and live all consequences to Him. You only do this if you have a life of prayer, trust in the LORD, mediate on His word and obey GOD. There is nothing that can keep you from obeying the LORD. You have to chose to obey GOD.

< Dependence upon the Holy Spirit

I surrender my life to indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. When you receive the presence of the Holy Spirit you are ready to do what LORD has called you to do in life.

Ephesians 5:18

18And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

It is a continuing presence, indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit will empower you, teach you how, will give you directions to do what I called you to do. He is there because we need GOD in our lives.

 < Giving to GOD and to others

Luke 6:38

38Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your lap. For with the same measure that you measure it shall be measured to you again.

You cannot give enough to GOD. Give to GOD and trust Him to do exactly what He said He will do. GOD loves the cheerful giver.

< Forgiving other people

Ephesians 4:26-32

26“In your anger do not sin” : Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27and do not give the devil a foothold.

30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

You will never enjoy your life in fullness and its best till you surrender your life to Christ.
