Your desires impact every single area of your life.

Psalm 37:1-8

1Fret not yourself because of evildoers, neither be you envious of the workers of iniquity.

2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

3Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shall you dwell in the land, and verily you shall be fed.

4Delight yourself also in the LORD; and he shall give you the desires of your heart.

5Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

6And he shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.

7Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.

8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not yourself in any way to do evil.

We may fret if we don’t get our desire from GOD.

Your desires reveals your character, the way you think, your motivations, they reveal your actions, and they reveal what’s behind your actions.

You need to have concrete desires that you are willing to pursue, you are willing to sacrifice for.

GOD provides the desires of our heart.

1 Timothy 2:4

4who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

If GOD desires me to come to knowledge of the truth then I am going to do whatever necessary to come to the knowledge of the truth. I am going to listen to the Word of GOD, I am going to seek the LORD, I am going to pray to GOD and talk to Him because that’s His desire for me. Then if it is His desire for me, it must be very important, if it is His desire for me, it must be good for me.

GOD placed His desires in our life because He wants you to accomplish and achieve, He wants you to be the person He wants you to be, He wants you to do the things He has created you for and given you skills and talents to accomplish them. He desires the best for you, good health and prospect and He desires for us to prosper in every aspect of our life.

He desires that when we go through the difficulties and hardship we don’t complain. The desires of GOD is when He allow these things we will mature, we learn to trust Him, we learn to rely upon Him, we become more like Him. They are all good desires.

The desire should be consistent with GOD’s plan for my life.

If we desire something that it is not right the Spirit of GOD will make us aware of it.

1 Timothy 6:9

9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

Asking GOD to prosper so you can give, you can help, you can promote the gospel, not to get rich.

Titus 2:11-12

11For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,

12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live sensibly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

2 Peter 2:9-10

9The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the Day of Judgment to be punished:

10But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise authority. Presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of the glorious ones.

They know deep down inside, it is against GOD’s will but they do it anyway. They set themselves up for emptiness, disappointment and destruction.

Bible says delight yourself in the LORD He will give you the desires of your heart.

1 John 5:14-15

14And this is the confidence that we have in him that, if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us:

15And if we know that he hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we desired of him.

There are somethings GOD will not give to us even if we want them because it is not according to His will.
