Your desires impact every single area of our life.

Psalm 37:1-8

1Fret not yourself because of evildoers, neither be you envious of the workers of iniquity.

2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

3Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shall you dwell in the land, and verily you shall be fed.

4Delight yourself also in the LORD; and he shall give you the desires of your heart.

5Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

6And he shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.

7Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.

8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not yourself in any way to do evil.

Your desire reveals our character, the way you think, our motivation, what’s behind those actions. Wrong desires will be empty and disappointing.

1 Timothy 2:4

4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

If GOD desires, my responsibility is to do all that necessary to come to the knowledge of the truth, I am going to listen to the Word of GOD, come to the knowledge of truth, I am going to seek the LORD, I am going to pray and talk to Him because that’s His desire. GOD desires because He wants you accomplish and achieve, He wants you to become the person He wants you to be, He wants you to do the things that He gave you talent and skills to accomplish. He desires that when we go through the difficulties, pain and loss, sorrow and suffering we would grow up. He allows those things for us to mature in Christ, for us to trust Him and rely upon Him. We would learn things that would make us become like Him.

Does the desire I have fit the will of GOD for me? Is this desire consistent with GOD’s plan in my life? If we do something that that is not right the spirit of GOD will make us aware of it.

1 Timothy 6:9

9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which plunge men into destruction and perdition.

If you asking to be prosperous so you can give, so you can help, so you can promote the Gospel, so you can provide for your family.

Titus 2:11-12

11For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,

12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live sensibly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

2 Peter 2:9-10

9The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the Day of Judgment to be punished:

10But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise authority. Presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of the glorious ones.
