It’s a new life for all who takes their first step in Christ.
Acts 16:25-34
25About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. 27The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!”
29The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
31They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” 32Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. 34The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household.
Salvation is the work of GOD’s grace by which He pardons us of our sins and bestows upon us the gift of eternal life.
Ephesians 2:1-4
1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
Physical death,
Spiritual death, death with things of GOD. Death in trespasses.
Eternal death, eternally being separated from GOD.
Isaiah 59:2
2But your iniquities have separated
you from your God;
Our sins separated us from GOD.
Romans 6:23
23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Hebrews 9:27
Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,
Matthew 7:21:23
21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
Titus 3:3-7
3At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, 5he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Saviour, 7so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
Bible is our compass to live by.
GOD’s provision for salvation
< Motivated by love
John 3:16
16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
< Sacrificial death of LORD Jesus Christ
Romans 5:5-11
5And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
6You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
< Substitutionary death of LORD Jesus Christ
GOD is Holy. GOD cannot deal with unholy things.
< Sufficient death of LORD Jesus Christ
GOD in LORD Jesus Christ, died for us only acceptable sacrifice.
< Transforms us
2 Corinthians 5:17
17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
There is a difference when a person life is transformed by LORD Jesus Christ you will sound different, you will look different,
Ephesians 1:13-14
13And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
Saving Faith
Trust in LORD Jesus as the Son of GOD for the forgiveness of your sins and for eternal life with GOD.
Believe and put your trust in Him.
Repentance
A heartfelt sorrow for sin, a renouncing of it a sincere commitment to forsake it and walk in obedience to Christ. And accepting LORD Jesus Christ as your LORD of your life.
LORD disciplines us until He disciplines that sin right out of our life.
Sanctification, GOD is continually cleansing us and as I am willing GOD points out to anything in my life that shouldn’t be there in order to keep me clean and holy. You have been saved by grace of GOD.
Spirit filled life is LORD Jesus Christ living His life through us by the Holy Spirit and the goal is to demonstrate and express the character of LORD Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:29
29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
