Acts 16:25-34
25And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.
27And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had fled.
28But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do yourself no harm: for we are all here.
29Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and your house.
32And they spoke unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
33And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, immediately.
34And when he had brought them into his house, he sat food before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.
Salvation is the work of GOD’s grace by which He pardons our sins and bestowed upon us the eternal life. It is a gift of GOD.
He saves us based on our personal relationship with LORD Jesus Christ. LORD Jesus sinless Son of GOD came to world, all our sins placed upon Him and was crucified. Death of LORD Jesus Christ is sacrificial. Only sinless Son of GOD could have paid for my sins. Death of LORD Jesus Christ is the heart of our being saved. When He died He open the door for us being saved. Saving faith is trusting in LORD Jesus Christ as Son of GOD for forgiveness of our sins and for eternal life. Willing to believe that He saves me and that moment you accept LORD Jesus Christ the Holy Spirit comes upon us and dwells in us.
Repentance is heartfelt sorrow for our sins and walking in obedience with Christ. We are saved by the grace of GOD. Repentance is recognition the LORD Jesus Christ is a master of my life.
Ephesians 2:1-5
1And you has he made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins:
2In which in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience:
3Among whom also we all had our behaviour in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,
5Even when we were dead in sins, has made us alive together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;)
Physical death, spiritual death and eternal death.
Spiritual death, death with things of GOD. Death in trespasses.
Eternal death, eternally being separated from GOD.
Isaiah 59:2
2But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Romans 6:23
23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
GOD’s provision motivated by love.
Romans 5:5-11
5And hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who is given unto us
6For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet perhaps for a good man some would even dare to die.
8But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11And not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the reconciliation.
