John 1:19-21-29

19Now this was John’s testimony when the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he       was. 20He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah.”

21They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?”

He said, “I am not.”

“Are you the Prophet?”

He answered, “No.”

22Finally they said, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

23John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’ ”

24Now the Pharisees who had been sent 25questioned him, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

26“I baptize with water,” John replied, “But among you stands one you do not know. 27He is the one who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”

28This all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

John Testifies About Jesus

29The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

The Lamb of God is Son of GOD who takes away the sin of the world He came to deal with the issue of sin

and revealed how.

Isaiah 53:7

7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.

Genesis 4 – blood shed for a person

Exodus 12 – blood shed for household

Leviticus 16 – blood shed for the nation

John 1 the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

The blood of LORD Jesus Christ essential for our forgiveness of sins

Ephesians 1:7

7In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

We have been forgiven and redeemed by the blood of Christ. The blood is necessary for redemption (Hebrews 9).

Our justification comes from the blood of LORD Jesus Christ. GOD declared every single person no longer guilty, everyone who accepted LORD Jesus as their saviour by faith we have been declared not guilty and righteous in the eyes of GOD.

Romans 5:9, 17

9Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

17For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one; much more they who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

The penalty is death. It had to be spotless lamb. LORD Jesus came for the purpose in order to die. In order for GOD to declare righteous in His eye LORD Jesus sacrificial death was essential. Because blood of LORD Jesus Christ has cleansed us from our sins and we are declared righteous.

Our reconciliation

Colossian 1:19-22

19For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell;

20And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

21And you, that were once alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now has he reconciled

22In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreprovable in his sight:

Because LORD Jesus Christ died on the cross it made it possible for us to stand in the presence Mighty GOD on that day and spotless without blemish and holy in the presence of GOD. Otherwise we would not have harmonious relationship with GOD through LORD Jesus Christ who made it possible, He brought us back in fellowship with GOD.

We have been redeemed, declared righteous and we live in harmonious relationship, reconciled to GOD through LORD Jesus Christ His Son.

We are also sanctified through His blood.

Hebrews 13:12

12Therefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate.

Sanctification is GOD cleansing us and setting us apart for Himself under Himself for His purpose. Believers forgiven for their sins set apart for the purpose of GOD and cleaned by LORD Jesus blood. We don’t even belong to ourselves we gave ourselves up the moment we surrender our life to Christ.

Sanctification is a continuous process, the continuous cleansing of Sprit of GOD in our lives by the blood of LORD Jesus Christ.

1 John 1:7

7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.

Periods of revival, the blood of LORD Jesus cleans us from all our sins and it is my confession and repentance takes care of my fellowship with Him.

Christ is our life, Spirit of GOD dwell in us, sealed us, we are the children of GOD. It is the blood of LORD Jesus Christ continuously cleansing us, we are the children of GOD. There is no salvation apart from LORD Jesus Christ blood.
