Our words should heal. Our words encourage or challenge or cause great pain. Learn to control your speech.

We talk to the Heavenly Father, talk the truth of gospel of LORD Jesus Christ, sign praises to our LORD, teach, train, encourage, train and express loving devotions to each other, great tool for good.

The wrong use of the tongue;

Gossip is idle or malicious talk about another person with a desire or intention to hurt or harm them in some form of fashion.

Romans 1:18, 24, 26-28

18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

24Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is shameful, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was fitting.

28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not proper;

Reprobate mind / degraded minds/ deprived mind is recognises what is he doing yet gives themselves over to sin without any regard to consequences, when they crossed the line and give themselves over to life style.

Romans 1:29-31

29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

2 Timothy 3:1-5

1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3Without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4Traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Gossip is a sin, we have no right to tear somebody else.

9^th Commandment says “You shall not bear false witness” Exodus 20:16.

Why people gossip;

-pride, it makes them feel important who gets their sense of security from tearing down somebody else.

-bitterness, hostility and anger towards someone, when a person does not like themselves they spur out their feelings on somebody else.

-low esteem, they are not happy and they try to pull other people down to their level. They are destroying themselves.

-purposeful attempt to destroy somebody else due to jealousy, their heart is evil. Gossip is devil language.

-influence, people get their acceptance by joining the crowd, gossip is cowardly act.

Cautions;

Proverbs 20:19

19He that goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets: therefore associate not with him who flatters with his lips.

Proverbs 11:13-14

13A talebearer reveals secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter.

14Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

Talk to Heavenly Father and cry out on their behalf, if there is something wrong that need to be corrected or for something not true for GOD to protect them.

Ephesians 4:29

29Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Gossip is a divider, it hurts, it harms, causes pain. Our words should heal.

*Genuine repentance

*make a commitment, think before you speak.

Psalm 19:14

14Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Matthew 7:12

12So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Godly people lift the people up. Devil destroys.
