In every crisis there is an opportunity.
Genesis 37:1-4
Joseph’s Dreams
1Jacob lived in the land where his father had stayed, the land of Canaan.
2This is the account of Jacob’s family line.
Joseph, a young man of seventeen, was tending the flocks with his brothers, the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives, and he brought their father a bad report about them.
3Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made an ornatea robe for him. 4When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him.
Joseph learned how to respond to the situation. He was thrown into cistern that only GOD could get him out of there. He was totally, absolutely depended on the GOD. He trusted GOD that GOD was preparing him yet GOD will be there to rescue Him no matter what.
He was sold as a slave to Egypt. Learn the language, their ways, which was also preparation.
Purchased by the captain of Pharaoh. Also learned how to be a leader, oversees all. GOD was preparing him.
Everything we face today is a preparation for tomorrow.
Joseph took the opportunity every time.
Framed by Potiphar’s wife, he saw this as an opportunity. I cannot prove to be unfaithful to GOD and disobey Him. His loyalty to GOD superseded every other desire in his life.
Thrown into prison Genesis 39:20-23. He became in charge of the prison. He learned how to treat other people right, he was falsely accused. He responded caring way.
Appeared before Pharaoh Genesis 41:1-57.
Genesis 41:16 “I cannot do it Joseph replied to Pharaoh but GOD will give Pharaoh the answer He desires”.
When he was at home he didn’t know anything about ruling. He learned all through crisis. He was looking at the Father trusting Him.
