Hebrews 2:1-4

1We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, 3how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. 4God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

drift away here is the same word used for ships drifting away.

pay the most careful attention, anchor yourself to the Truth.

We live in a fallen world, it is a warning against drifting from the Truth you know.

Reasons for drifting;

-neglect reading Word of GOD, neglect spending time in prayer, neglect in corporate worship. Corporate worship motivates, encourages each other.

-lack of sense of direction for your life

-influence of other people

-they keep falling onto same temptation

-preoccupied with other things in their life

How do you recover from drifting?

GOD chastising hand can be so painful that almost unbearable for you. You cannot drift beyond His restoration.

*acknowledging, confess that you are drifting

*genuine repentance, repentance is a decision change of mind, change of life style saying I don’t want this kind of life, I want to do what GOD wants me to do.

*return to the life of submission and will and purpose of GOD

*make a decision to read Word of GOD, prioritise your life, spend quality time with GOD, read Word of GOD, meet and fellowship with GOD’s people.

Revelation

Revelation 1:12-19

12I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. 14The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.

15And his feet like unto fine bronze, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

16And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shines in its strength.

17And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

18I am he that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen; and have the keys of hades and of death.

19Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;

LORD Jesus is the church of the living GOD. He is the LORD of His church, His exalted body.

Revelation 5:1-5

1And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals.

2And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the scroll, and to loose the seals thereof?

3And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the scroll, neither to look thereon.

4And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the scroll, neither to look thereon.

5And one of the elders said unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

LORD Jesus Christ exalted, wordy Lamb sacrificed for our redemption. He is the LORD of lords. All heavens bows to Son of GOD. LORD Jesus deserves my best and my total obedience to Him. It should be our motivation to serve Him and honour Him.

Revelation 19:11-16

11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon it was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he does judge and make war.

12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13And he was clothed with a robe dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15And out of his mouth goes forth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16And he has on his robe and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

He is the exalted King of kings. It is His desire to rule our hearts. Every decision we make should be sifted through Him. If He is the King of kings. Bible says He predestined us to conform to likeness of His Son. All of heaven bows before Him. We are the children of Kingdom of GOD. He is our Master. Everything exists and every one saved through Him.

Revelation 14:6-7

6And I saw another angel fly in midheaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and tribe, and tongue, and people,

7Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment has come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Revelation 20:11-15

11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13And the sea gave up the dead who were in it; and death and hades delivered up the dead who were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14And death and hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

LORD Jesus is the exalted Judge. He will judge everyone on the earth. The exalted Christ of Revelation, He is the final judge. Be motivated by who He is, be a living expression of LORD Jesus Christ, our lives invested in sharing the gospel that’s the reason we are here. He is our King, He is the exalted Judge.

He is the LORD of church, He is the Lamb of GOD, He is the coming King of kings, LORD of lords. Seeing His Son as He is, bowing before Him, worship Him, glorify and honour Him, in praise and adoration.

Heavenly Father put all our sins upon Him. When He died for our sins, He paid our debts in full.
