Psalm 100

1Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.

2Worship the Lord with gladness;

come before him with joyful songs.

3Know that the Lord is God.

It is he who made us, and we are his;

we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

4Enter his gates with thanksgiving

and his courts with praise;

give thanks to him and praise his name.

5For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;

his faithfulness continues through all generations.

GOD has been kind and generous to us. Thanksgiving is celebration of GOD’s goodness and mercy toward us. He is the source of our blessings. We all have trials, suffering and hard times but think how good GOD has been toward us as a nation. We all have something to be grateful. Those who trusted LORD Jesus Christ, we have the eternity to thank for.

The impact of true thanksgiving in our hearts,

*Keeps us continually aware, we walk in His presence which contributes to living a godly life. He said “I will never leave you nor forsake you” Hebrews 13:5. We have LORD Jesus in the inside of us. The Holy Spirit living in you through you. Having sealed you forever as a child of GOD how grateful we ought to be and express our gratitude in the life of righteousness and obedience to GOD.

*Motivates us to look for His purpose in everything that He allows in our life. Everything He does in our life is for our good to bring glory and honour to Him. We are to live every day with thanks giving for having a relationship with GOD through His Son LORD Jesus Christ.

*Brings our will into submission to His will when we are suffering pain and loss. When we are going through difficult times in life, the fact that LORD Jesus Christ living inside of us, we should be very grateful. LORD Jesus cares, the scriptures says “I will never leave you nor forsake you” Hebrews 13:5.

*Reminds us of our continuing dependence on GOD. We need GOD all day, every day in our lives.

*Helps us to trust Him when we don’t understand why. We live in absolute dependence on Almighty GOD every day. We live in a fallen world. He will never leave us nor forsake us. We can never be alone once we trust LORD Jesus Christ as our Saviour. He wants us to trust Him always. He is not obligated to explain His work, He is going to see you through it. He will guide you, lead you and help you. He works in our life in such a way that He will turn everything in our life for something good, if you listen to Him and give credit to Him.

*Essential to my rejoicing in the midst of suffering. Thanks giving remind us how good He is, how gracious and kind. He is never late. In the midst of our suffering He is always there with His grace.

*Misplaces our anxiety with His peace. When things are really tough when things go against you, just knowing His word to us ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’ is comforting. When we are anxious, thank GOD, peace of GOD surrounds you.

John 14:27

27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

*Gives our witness greater impact. To be able to know in our heart I can thank GOD He will supply all our needs. Thank GOD this is His will in LORD Jesus Christ. When you trust the LORD Jesus Christ as your Saviour you cannot be alone.

*Keeps our focus on Him rather than our circumstances. This is an indication of how rich and how deep our faith when we are in most difficult painful times in life saying; GOD I don’t understand it but I thank you, I love you and I know you are present. Promises made to us by the Holy GOD.

*Energizes us in the midst of our most tiring circumstances. Even if you think you cannot take any step further, yes you can because GOD who promises you all, is infinite, has no limitations. You can keep going in the midst of all that He will fulfil His promises. You cannot be without GOD once you trusted LORD Jesus Christ as your Saviour. He said I will never leave you nor forsake you. Nobody can promise that, no one but GOD Himself.

How blessed we are. Our name is written in the Lambs Book of Life. Him saying I will never leave you nor forsake should excite our hearts to praise Him and thanksgiving to Him.
