Wisdom in the mist of trials

Posted on 01 Nov 2019

We all go through trials in our lives that we may not understand why it has happened to us. You want to be out of it, escape it. You want to be out of all the pain, hurt, disappointment, and helplessness as soon as possible. GOD has something more important than getting you out of trials. You can benefit from whatever you are facing.

1 Peter 1:3-8

3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith–of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire–may result in praise, glory and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,

We need to learn, benefit, being able to say thank you dear GOD for all you have brought me through.

Purposes of these trials are;

* to prove genuineness of your faith – GOD is strengthening your faith which is one of greatest your assets. Faith is trusting GOD. The greater your faith is stronger your relationship to the LORD.

* The testing of our devotion – to say I truly love you GOD.

* The purifying our lives – Pain has a purifying factor, brings us to the reality and truthfulness about ourselves.

* to show Himself strong in our lives – We go through trials not knowing how to handle it. GOD steps into the situation and demonstrates His awesomeness and power. He demonstrates what He is willing to do, what He is able to do, what He can do in your life if you listen to Him.

* Provide Christ like character in our life – GOD has purpose. He doesn’t let things go by without specific purpose. His purpose is to create Christ like character in our lives.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

* To equip us to help others through the same difficulty. If you are going through a pain you would want to talk to someone who has been there who has wisdom and knowledge. GOD intents we profit from all the hardships, disasters happen in our lives. He has something good in every one of them. GOD is up to something good in my life I know it hurts GOD but I know you are up to good something in my life. Sense of encouragement.

We can rejoice in trials when we are convinced that;

* GOD is in control of the time and intensity of my trials.

* GOD has a specific purpose to allow it.

* That is designed to meet a specific need in my life. One of these days GOD will use you in a very specific way. You would like to talk to someone who been there, walked the path, to meet a specific need in our lives. Whatever pain you go through not only GOD has purpose He is equipping you so you could feel how other person is feeling. I have been there. Looked at the cross He has been there. He is equipping you to say to others I have been there.

*That GOD is developing Christ like character in us. Willing to ask forgiveness is part of their character building.

* These trials will helps us measure our spiritual growth. Something you are going through today perhaps you wouldn’t have been able to handle it before. GOD guards every aspect of our lives and He knows exactly when to put it on you. His goal is never to defeat you but to develop you in Christ likeness. He is governing you through every aspect of lives. Don’t waste any of these trials by wrong response.

Say ‘LORD I don’t understand it, it hurts, and it wouldn’t be my choice. Father I am going to trust you, you know what is best for my life, you know how to use me in someone else’s life’. ‘Heavenly Father if you just able me, I will persevere and keep walking on your path, no matter how deep is the valley, I will be walking on your path, trusting you to take Me through all the way to the other side.’

If you apply it to your heart your life will change. If you are willing to trust LORD Jesus as your saviour everything will change. Seek forgiveness from the LORD. LORD not My will but your will be done.
