Accountability is a safety feature for us.
Judgement of believer
2 Corinthians 5:6-13
6Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7(For we walk by faith, not by sight 🙂
8We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
The Judgment Seat of Christ
9Therefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may be recompensed for the things done in his body, according to what he has done, whether it be good or bad.
Judgement of the unbeliever
11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13And the sea gave up the dead who were in it; and death and hades delivered up the dead who were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Our accountability that is we stand before GOD accountable for our life.
The judgement of the believer
*Only those who have trusted Jesus Christ as their Saviour will be present at this judgement.
*LORD Jesus will be the Judge. This is a judgement of rewards.
Holy Spirit convicts us our sins and failures in order to keep us on the right path, to remind us that we have to give account of our lives, to enable us and to equip us to show the areas in our life that we need to make it right.
1 Corinthians 3:13-15
13Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall test every man’s work of what sort it is.
14If any man’s work abide which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
You have been blessed now you are accountable.
*We will be judged according to our works.
- The truth – how much truth of the Word of GOD that we know
- The opportunities that He has given us
- How we have responded
We will be accountable for wasting time, sinful things, and wrong motives.
We will be accountable to GOD how we live out the opportunities, skills and talent.
*We are going to be rewarded for the good works.
Are you living a life the way GOD wants you to live?
Life is full of consequences. It depends how you live it to His glory and honour.
Live a life that you will be pleased to stand before LORD Jesus Christ and give an account for your life.
Our Heavenly Father has the best for us, you either choose the best or otherwise.
How do we prepare for this?
*Receive the LORD Jesus Christ as our Saviour. The first step is to be saved.
*Review of life style. What we are living for? How do you spent your time? How do you use your spiritual gifts? How do you use the resources and what way you serve the LORD and honour Him?
Is your relationship right? Pure?
*Revaluate your priorities. What is pleasing the Heavenly Father? Where is LORD in your priorities?
*Renewing your daily commitment to live a godly life and serve Him.
Proverbs 3:5-8
5Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
7Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
8This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.
